Juan Martin del Potro looks closer to making a long awaited return to the ATP Tour. The Argentinian, the 2009 US Open champion and an owner of 22 titles on tour, posted these pictures of himself without any brace or tape on his surgically repaired knee, along with the caption “Keep trying.”

The former World No.3 has been out since he injured his right patella at Queen's Club in June of 2019.

He appears to be ramping up the intensity of his training after his fourth knee surgery, which took place in March of this year.

Del Potro has undergone four surgeries to his right knee (in June of 2019, January of 2020, August of 2020 and March 2021).

In June, Del Potro posted on social media:

“It’s frustrating and painful not to achieve the goals, but it would hurt much more not to try. That is why I am here once again.”
