Video: Nadal Returns, Aims for Strong 2016


Rafael Nadal was in explosive spirits in his IPTL debut.

The 14-time Grand Slam champion mixed his spins and thumped his forehand at times edging Tomas Berdych in a quality shoot-out.

Watch Berdych answer Nadal's varied spins with all-court skills and an expansive reach in the video above.

"I had a lot of fun. It was a little bit of stress, but great," Nadal said afterward. "Great crowd, great organization.

"It was good tennis, good show. We tried our best. Good tennis and it's preparation for me for next year."



Nadal told the official IPTL website he's satisfied with his offseason training and is aiming for a strong start to 2016.

"I had a good year, finished No. 5 in the world, which is not so bad. I’m training really hard to be able to play the best that I can, and I am looking forward to a strong year ahead.”

Babolat, Nadal's racquet sponsor, posted this video of a recent hitting session.
