Azarenka out of Acapulco with Wrist Injury


Top-seeded Victoria Azarenka has pulled out of the Abierto Mexicano Telcel in Acapulco, citing an injury to her left wrist. Azarenka defeated Polana Hercog, 4-6, 6-3, 6-1 on Tuesday and was slated to face Dominika Cibulkova tonight.

Cibulkova gets the walkover into the quarterfinals and will face either Shelby Rogers or Johanna Larsson next.

Azarenka owns a 10-1 record in 2016, but has played just the one match since falling to Angelique Kerber in the quarterfinals at the Australian Open.
