Rafael Nadal will have to face a handful of big-name players at this week’s Argentina Open if he is to repeat as the tournament’s champion. After a bye, Nadal could face his good friend Juan Monaco in the second round. Monaco, a finalist last year in Buenos Aires, has been out since last August due to a surgery on his right wrist. He’ll likely not be in good enough form to threaten Nadal but things should get trickier if he advances to the quarterfinals.

There Nadal would face seventh-seeded Alexandr Dolgopolov if the seeds hold. Nadal would face either Dominic Thiem or John Isner in the semifinal if the seeds hold.

There are two other top-10 players—David Ferrer and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga—in the lower half of the draw, along with Italy’s Fabio Fognini.

Nadal holds a lifetime 344-30 record on clay with 47 titles. Last year he went 26-6 on the surface, winning Buenos Aires and Hamburg.
