David Ferrer is IN DEMAND tonight at the Argentina Open in Buenos Aires. The three-time champion has been given a wild card into the tournament in this his last season, and the event invited some celebrated guests to attend Ferrer’s first-round tilt against Tunisia’s Malek Jaziri tonight.
Some of the players—both retired and active—in attendance? Gabriela Sabatini, Martin Jaite, Federico Delbonis, Marc Lopez, Diego Schwartzman, Juan Ignacio Chela, Mariano Zabalata, Juan Monaco, Gaston Gaudio and more.
The 36-year-old former World No.3, who will officially retire this year in Madrid, is apparently feeling the vibe. He took a dramatic first-set tiebreaker 15-13 from Jaziri and now leads by a set and double-break.
UPDATE: Ferrer finished off the 7-6(13), 6-3 win and will face Albert Ramos-Vinolas in the second round.
