Azarenka’s Message: A Little Dab Will Do Ya

Victoria Azarenka. Colorful, audible, exciting. Love her or mute her, it’s hard to argue that the former World No. 1 isn’t one of the most interesting and entertaining players on the WTA Tour.

In keeping with her tradition of finding strange ways (can you say singing happy birthday off-key to a stadium full of New Yorkers?) to entertain fans, Azarenka took a page from Carolina Panthers QB Cam Newton and did the “Dab” dance after her first round thrashing of Elina Vesnina in Brisbane.

What’s a “Dab,” you ask? Well, because we figured you would, we looked it up. And you know what, we’re still not quite sure. Anyway, if you really want to know, you can read this piece to get more of the history of this strange dance.

Azarenka will take on lucky loser Ysaline Bonaventure of Belgium in the second round. Will you be watching to see if she dabs again?
