Gael Monfils turned the blue court into a launching pad, then confirmed coming down is the hardest thing.

Monfils was running behind the baseline went he went airborne, perhaps forgetting the problem hard-court landings present.

Monfils took a 10-minute injury timeout for treatment and taping to his right hand. The 23rd-seeded Frenchman returned to action, his fingers and right hand taped up from the scrapes, and resumed his fourth-round match with Andrey Kuznetsov.
