15-year-old Marta Kostyuk became the youngest player to reach the third round at the Australian Open since Martina Hingis in 1996 with a 6-3, 7-5 win over Australia’s Olivia Rogowska.

Last year’s Girls Singles champion struck 22 winner and converted 5 of 10 break points to reach the third round.

Kostyuk, ranked 522, earned a spot in qualifying because of her junior title last season. She has now won 11 matches in a row at Melbourne Park. She is the youngest player to reach the third round at any major since 1997.

Kostyuk, who is managed by Roger Federer’s coach, Ivan Ljubicic, and coached by Luca Kutanjac, is also the youngest player to qualify for a Slam since 2005.

She will face Elina Svitolina in round three.
