Fast4 tennis was a quick experience for Rafael Nadal.

The world No. 2 endured an opening-set bagel bowing to Nick Kyrgios, 4-0, 3-5, 4-3, in the Fast4 exhibition in Sydney on Monday. Fast4 features Tennis Australia's abbreviated scoring system with first to four games winning the set and tiebreaks played at 3-all.

Nadal returned to the court partnering Milos Raonic to doubles victory leading Team World to a 2-1 win over Team Australia.

Regaining his rhythm, rather than the final result, was the key for the reigning Roland Garros champion.

"The first set was quick," Nadal quipped. "That’s how it works, this Fast4, and especially playing an unbelievable talent, a player like Nick... I was there. I need to (find) a little bit more rhythm."

Fast4 tennis was a quick experience for Rafael Nadal.

The 2009 Australian Open champion, who withdrew from Brisbane last week with a slight thigh strain, said he expects to be 100 percent for the Australian Open, which begins on Monday in Melbourne.

"I think it was a good start for me, a good comeback to the action in front of a fantastic crowd here in Sydney," Nadal said. "I really enjoyed it a lot, playing tonight here. I’m happy to be back on court and then happy that I’m healthy again."

Rafa is already in a bubbly state of mind ahead of his Melbourne return as he showed in this new ad for Kia.
