Kyrgios to Donate Cash to Victims of Australian Fires

Nick Kyrgios' Australian aces will serve a greater good this month.

Kyrgios pledged he will donate $200 for each ace he hits during the Australian summer season to victims of the bush fires that have ravaged the nation.

About 17 people have died and more than 1,000 homes have been destroyed by the fires, which have been fueled by fierce winds and scalding summer heat.

"I'm kicking off the support for those affected by the fires," Kyrgios posted on Twitter today. "I’ll be donating $200 per ace that I hit across all the events I play this summer."

Air quality is so poor in Kyrgios' hometown of Canberra, officials have advised residents to remain indoors.

Kyrgios' Davis Cup teammate, Alex de Minaur, tweeted his support for the cause vowing to donate $250 for every ace he hits to victims of the fires.

"I like this I will go $250 per ace, just because I don’t think I'll be hitting as many aces as you mate," de Minaur tweeted.

Aussies John Millman and John Peers also pledged support.

The ATP joined the cause as well.
