The 22-year-old American has signed an apparel and footwear endorsement pact with Fila. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The 6'11" Opelka joins compatriots John Isner, Sam Querrey and Sofia Kenin on the Fila roster, which also features world No. 1 Ashleigh Barty and Karolina Pliskova.

“I am thrilled to become a member of the Fila family and represent such an iconic brand both on and off the court,” said Opelka, who previously wore New Balance. “I appreciate Fila's storied history in tennis and it is an honor to join the list of legendary athletes who wear the brand’s clothing and footwear. I can’t wait to get started.”

Opelka captured his first ATP title last February at the New York Open sparking a break-out season that saw him reach his career-best ranking of No. 31 in October. Opelka reached the semifinals at Tokyo and Basel in 2019, as well as the third round of Wimbledon.

The explosive American also finished second on the ATP Tour ace list, hitting 1,014 aces during the 2019 season. Opelka has four career titles on the ATP Challenger Tour and was the 2015 Junior Wimbledon Champion.

Opelka, who also boasts four Top 10 victories, will face Fabio Fognini in the Australian Open first-round. Opelka upset Fognini in the US Open first round last August.
