Victoria Azarenka has always been one of the more interesting conversationalists in professional tennis. Her press conferences are wide-ranging, informative and full of introspection, and they’ve gotten better as the Belarusian has matured.

Now, tennis fans can get more of that side of Azarenka by tuning into her new podcast, “Think about It”.

Azarenka switches roles from interviewee to interviewer and she’s already thrown up six episodes featuring frank and unscripted discussions with successful people and deep thinkers from outside of the sport.

Azarenka is on the hunt for genuine, authentic conversation, and hopes to bring something unique to the podcast world – the unvarnished truth.

"I think in sports we always have this protective wall that we don't want to show our vulnerabilities, feelings, emotions, fears, etc., because it shows, from a perspective of people, a weakness and that you shouldn't talk about it and people will think of you differently,” she told WTA Insider about her project. “It's not that people don't think about it or have those emotions and feelings, it's just they're hiding it. Unfortunately in sports, I don't see a lot of open conversations on these topics regarding our jobs.”

Podcasting may not be brain surgery, but Azarenka does bring a real brain surgeon on her show—Rajul Jandial—in episode six. Episode one features Trevor Moawad, a renowned mental conditioning expert, and a person that can help any person in any walk of life. Episode four features Dr. Rupy Aujla, author of “The Doctor’s Kitchen.”

Quite a bit of variety, and truly something for everyone. In other words, classic Azarenka.

“We're all human and we go through the same emotions and feelings and struggles,” Azarenka says. “One of the things about the show is that having people from different fields able to connect on those examples, having the same struggles in different fields."

The show is available on the WTA’s YouTube channel, as well as Apple Podcasts.
