Maria Kirilenko announced the birth of her first child on Twitter Friday:
The 28-year-old Russian is a former world No. 10 and a three-time Grand Slam quarterfinalist who owns 285 Tour-level wins.
According to a report by Tennis.com’s Matt Cronin, which was retweeted by Kirilenko, the Russian has not decided on whether or not she’ll return to the tour.
Kirilenko surprised the tennis world when she announced that she’d married Alexei Stepanov in January of this year.
