Sloane Stephens drove a spirited comeback to the 2017 US Open championship.

Now, Stephens is riding a new partnership with a major US Open sponsor.

Federer: Mirka Makes It Happen

The 25-year-old Stephens has signed on with Mercedes-Benz as the brand’s newest global ambassador.

“I am absolutely honored to be a part of the Mercedes-Benz global family,” Stephens said in a statement. “Mercedes-Benz is constantly raising the bar in the automotive industry, which is similar to how I approach tennis. We both want to perform at the highest level and be the best in the world.”

The Roland Garros runner-up joins elite company.

Stephens joins Roger Federer, Lewis Hamilton and Rickie Fowler among the automaker's elite athlete ambassadors.

“Sloane Stephens is the perfect athlete to represent the Mercedes-Benz brand globally,” said Monique Harrison, Department Head of Brand Experience Marketing at Mercedes- Benz USA. “She has emerged as a powerhouse in the world of tennis, and has her sights set on being the best.

"We are excited to see her strive for greatness and help grow the game. At such a young age, she has already proven to be a star, making her an ideal fit for our brand.”

Last September, the 83rd-ranked Stephens won her maiden Grand Slam title at the US Open, where she became the fifth unseeded woman in the Open Era to win a major.

As a part of the partnership, Stephens will receive a 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLE 63 S Coupe.

Also as a part of the partnership, Mercedes-Benz will work with Stephens "to capture and promote content as well as engage in employee relations activities," the brand said in a statement.
