The Garbiñe Muguruza-Sam Sumyk era has officially come to an end. The Spaniard took to twitter to announce the end of the partnership after nearly four years.

Muguruza won two major titles with Sumyk as her coach, but the Frenchman was not present for personal reasons when Muguruza won her second major title at Wimbledon in 2017. She was coached by Conchita Martinez, with Sumyk providing help from abroad.

Muguruza also claimed the No.1 ranking during her period working with Sumyk, holding it for a total of four weeks.

The Spaniard has slipped in the rankings this year to No.27, but she did make the second week of the Australian Open and Roland Garros before falling in the first round at Wimbledon to Beatriz Haddad Maia.

Muguruza, 25, owns one title this year and seven overall.
