When it comes to doubles, Serena Williams has one non-negotiable rule.
She plays the forehand side or she doesn't play.

After sweeping Julia Goerges to charge into her 16th Wimbledon round of 16 in singles, Williams revealed the one rule she imposed on Murray—and all doubles partners..
"I always play the forehand side," Williams told the media at Wimbledon. "If you want to play with me, I play forehand. It's just the only rule I have."
The SerAndy dream doubles team makes its debut today. Serena said both former world No. 1s share a common approach.
"Andy and I both love the competition. I know we both want to do well," Williams said. "We're not here just for show. We want to play well. We both have been champions at Wimbledon. It's like we want to continue to do that."
Aside from a combined nine Wimbledon singles titles, the pair are also devoted parents. Murray has two daughters; Serena's daughter, Alexis Olympia, travels with her.
"I always ask about his girls," Williams said. "I think his youngest daughter is almost the same age as my daughter, just a month apart. That's pretty cool.
The 23-time Grand Slam champion says doubles sharpens her singles skills.
"I feel like I always play doubles, and the doubles really is able to help my singles game," Williams said. "That's super, super important for me."
