Visa Issues Cancel Kuznetsova's DC Defense

Svetlana Kuznetsova's Washington, DC title defense is done before it even began.

The two-time Grand Slam champion withdrew from next week's Citi Open due to problems acquiring a U.S. visa.

"Unfortunately I had to pull out of Washington due to my problems with US visa," Kuznetsova posted on Instagram. "Wanted to apologize to all my fans who were waiting for me there.

Never had issues like this in my life, hopefully one day I can finally get a visa and play at least some events of the US swing!"

Такая ситуация сложилась за карьеру (не короткую 😂) впервые, очень надеюсь на ее скорое разрешение ! #гдеродилсятамипригодился #яузналчтоуменяестьогромнаясемья
