Jessica Pegula played hero and led the Orlando Storm to a pivotal 22-16 victory over the Las Vegas Rollers on Thursday in West Virginia. The American defeated Ajla Tomljanovic in singles then returned with Darija Jurak after a mixed doubles loss to take women’s doubles, 5-1 over Tomljanovic and Puig.

The victory powers the Storm into third place at 5-4, while Vegas drops to 4-6.


In other news the Washington Kastles thumped Orange County 25-11 to improve to 4-4. Bernarda Pera and Tommy Paul dropped just three games combined on the singles court to get the Kastles rolling.

Springfield, led by 18-year-old Caty McNally’s victories in Mixed and doubles, powered past San Diego, 22-19.
