Second Serve - A Tennis Now Blog

Second Serve

Nadal is known for his dominance on clay, having four won consecutive French Open championships. This feat has only been matched by the lengendary Bjorn Borg.  Even though Rafa is the king of clay, Robin Soderling gave the world of tennis the biggest upset to date by defeating Nadal in the 2009 French Open, where he has never even been taken to the fifth set! Now, Nadal just dropped from Wimbledon due to his health, and this is gonig to be the second title that he won't be able to defend this year. Although things are exactly the best for  Nadal, he is still going to hold his spot atop the tennis world. The racquet he chose to rule with is the spin friendly, aerodynamic Babolat AeroPro Drive Cortex (video review). I love hitting with this frame because of the solid and fast swing it provides, but a good level of skill is definitely required to handle this baby. Besides his amazing racquet, Nadal also has an extraordinary set of skills, having started tennis at the young age of three! Lets hope he lives up to his ranking at the US OPEN!
