Serena Williams isn't the kind of star to take a film premiere sitting down.

The world No. 1 rocked the red carpet—and New York City—Monday night appearing for the premiere of the new documentary Serena.

Serena the documentary will make its world television debut on Epix on Wednesday, June 22nd.

Film makers had unprecedented private access to Serena and her team, including their reactions after Serena's gut-wrenching US Open loss last summer denied her the Grand Slam and her Australian Open final defeat to Angelique Kerber.

The film aims to capture the pressure of being world No. 1 and show the private side of Serena in conversations with family, friends, her coach and trainers.

The 21-time Grand Slam champion's coach, Patrick Mouratoglou, walked the red carpet alongside Williams.
