Murray Withdraws From s-Hertogenbosch

Andy Murray has pulled the plug on his planned comeback.

The former world No. 1 withdrew from next week's s-Hertogenbosch tournament putting his status for next month's Wimbledon in doubt.

"It is with regret that I won't be ready to play in Hertogenbosch," Murray said. "I was excited to play there for the first time, but I am not quite ready to return. I am still aiming to play in the coming weeks, but I want to be 100 percent when I do return."

The 31-year-old Scot underwent successful hip surgery in Melbourne in January. Murray did not say if he plans to play Queen's Club, which begins on June 18th.

The three-time Grand Slam champion has spent some time training at the Patrick Mouratoglou Academy aiming to return to competition in time for the grass court season.

Murray has not played a Tour-level match since bowing to Sam Querrey in the Wimbledon quarterfinals last July.

“There will always be pressure there, but I’ll definitely make sure I enjoy it more and make sure I don’t get too down with a bad result or a tough loss and not get too high when things are going well," Murray told The Washington Post in an interview earlier this year.  "Because you never quite know what’s around the corner. . .

"I certainly never anticipated something like this. So I certainly won’t take anything for granted when I come back.”
