Canadian sensation Bianca Andreescu has pulled out of Wimbledon due to her shoulder injury.

The 18-year-old World No.25 has only played once since the Miami Open in March. She defeated Marie Bouzkova in the first round at Roland Garros but withdrew from the tournament the next day.

Kristyna Pliskova of the Czech Republic takes Andreescu’s place in the main draw.

The Canadian has risen from outside of the Top 150 at the start of the season to her current spot inside the Top 30. She became the youngest player to win the BNP Paribas Open since Serena Williams in 1999 and has won 32 of 36 matches across all levels this season.

Her shoulder struggles began in Miami, where she pulled out during her round of 16 contest with Anett Kontaveit.

A small tear to the rotator cuff is what force Andreescu to withdraw in Miami and she reportedly suffered from the same injury at Roland Garros.
