Andy Murray and Serena Williams? It’s a dream mixed doubles pairing, but could it become a reality?

Both players spoke about it on Saturday during their pre-Wimbledon press conferences.

Murray is eager to find a right partner, but has reservations about Williams' desire to truly commit to mixed doubles, especially if she makes a deep run in singles.

“If I'm going to play mixed, which is the plan, you obviously want to be playing with someone who's going to be there for the whole event, and they're in it to try to win matches and win the event," Murray said. "I appreciate with singles players that's not always going to be the case. Yeah, I mean, obviously [Serena is] arguably the best player ever. It would be a pretty solid partner.”

Williams comments earlier in the day had sparked the conversation.

“I'm available,” she said. “I'm feeling better now, so I'm definitely available.”

Available is one thing, but by the end of the press conference Williams hinted that she may more interested in having fun with the media than actually playing mixed.

“Let's see how my knee's going,” she said. “I'm finally doing good. I don't want to, like, go back.”
