This year’s Mallorca Open will feature the comeback appearance of 2004 Wimbledon champion Maria Sharapova.

The five-time major champion has been off since late January and underwent a minor shoulder surgery in February, causing her to miss the clay season in full. But the 32-year-old Russian is ready to begin her comeback at Mallorca, where she’s taken a wild card in to next week’s event.

Sharapova was seen hitting on the courts at Mallorca on Thursday.

The Russian joins the best Mallorca Open field ever. Angelique Kerber and Victoria Azarenka are in the mix, along with former champ Anastasija Sevastova and 17-year-old Roland Garros semi-finalist Amanda Anisimova.
