Second Serve

Magdalena Rybarikova notched a giant 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 victory over Belinda Bencic at the BNP Paribas Open on Monday, but it wasn’t without its anxioux moments. Rybarikova had three break points to take a double-break lead on Bencic at 4-1 in the third set, and she would have had a fourth had it had not been for this incredibly epic shank overhead. In the Slovakian’s defense, the sun was rather bright.

Ouch.

Rybarikova went on to notch the win and set up a round of 16 encounter with Roberta Vinci. She also went on to mess up another overhead. But we repeat: she won, and all is well in her world.
