Rafael Nadal and Fernando Verdasco lost a nail biter to the Bryan Brothers on Saturday night at the BNP Paribas Open, but the Spaniard’s kept fans on the edge of their seats with splendid shotmaking all night long.

Mladenovic Rips Sharapova When She's Down

Check out this amazing get from Nadal. He pirouettes and casually flicks the ball back before scrambling back into position to retrieve a Bob Bryan smash. Nadal and Verdasco would win the point before eventually losing, 3-6, 7-5, 10-8.

It was an electric atmosphere on Stadium two, something that was not lost on the Bryans, who spoke about the thrill of playing before an A-list crowd.

“A bunch of A-list celebrities out there,” Mike Bryan said. “It was pretty cool. We were watching the big screen when we were sitting down on changeovers and see Mike Tyson, Larry Ellison, Hillary Swank. Our friend Kaley Cuoco was out there. She's considered an A-lister. It was a great atmosphere just right from when we walked out. It's kind of a special court.”

The Bryans will next face Roberto Bautista Agut and Viktor Troicki in second-round action.

Nadal will face Gilles Muller in his first match at the BNP Paribas Open this evening.
