World TeamTennis Partners CBS in TV Pact


WTT's multi-colored court is coming to CBS.

World TeamTennis and CBS Sports today announced a multi-year television partnership spanning both broadcast and cable. The deal will start this summer, highlighted by CBS Television Network broadcasting the Philadelphia Freedoms facing the Vegas Rollers on Saturday, July 21st.

Previous WTT competitors include Naomi Osaka, Serena and Venus Williams, Maria Sharapova, John Isner, the Bryan Brothers and Nick Kyrgios. WTT has not yet announced player line-ups for the 2019 season.

CBS Sports Network will televise 15 WTT matches throughout the season, starting on Monday, July 15. The network will also air the semifinals and finals from Orleans Arena in Las Vegas on Friday, August 2nd and Saturday, August 3rd at 7:00 pm Eastern.

“World TeamTennis is proud to become a broadcast and cable partner with CBS,” said WTT CEO Carlos Silva. “WTT will be on broadcast, cable and online in 2019, and this is just another exciting way we plan to showcase and grow team tennis this summer.”

The 44th WTT regular season will run from July 14th-31st.

The league features eight franchises across the United States including the New York Empire, Orange County Breakers, Philadelphia Freedoms, San Diego Aviators, Springfield Lasers and Washington Kastles. Earlier this week, two new franchises were announced in the Vegas Rollers and Orlando Storm.
