Djokovic Plans Monte-Carlo Return

Novak Djokovic will make a homecoming comeback.

The world No. 2 announced he will return to action at next month's Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters, set for April 10-17th, in a post on his official website.

Serena: I'd Probably be in Jail for Zverev Tirade

"Novak will open his 2022 clay court season in Monte-Carlo, where he won the Masters 1000 title twice, in 2013 and 2015," says a statement on NovakDjokovic.com.

Djokovic, who was unable to enter the United States to play this month's Masters events in Indian Wells and Miami because he could not provide proof of vaccination, lives in Monte-Carlo and trains at the Monte-Carlo Country Club.

The 34-year-old Serbian can play the season's first clay-court Masters because Monte-Carlo permits international travellers with a proof of recovery from Covid-19 in the last six months and does not mandate vaccination. Djokovic has said he contracted Coronavirus for a second time last December.

It will be Djokovic's second tournament of the season.

Last month, Djokovic made his 2022 season debut in Dubai.  A brilliant Jiri Vesely stunned Djokovic 6-4, 7-6(4) surging into the Dubai semifinals and snapping the Serbian’s record reign as world No. 1 that spanned 361 weeks.
