Nick Kyrgios has been fined $25,000 by the ATP for his racquet-throwing incident at the BNP Paribas Open at Indian Wells. The Aussie, who smashed a racquet after his three-set quarterfinal loss to Rafael Nadal, earned $179,940 for his trip to the quarterfinals in singles and another $32,630 for his work on the doubles court.

Kyrgios was fined $20,000 for unsportsmanlike conduct and $5,000 for audible obscenity.

Brooksby Next?

American Jenson Brooksby will likely be the next player to pay the piper. The 21-year-old tossed a racquet in the direction of a ball boy during his three-set win over Federico Coria on Thursday in Miami. He was given a point penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct. See the incident below:
