Alexander Zverev found his way past Thanasi Kokkinakis on Tuesday in Miami, but the third-ranked German says that people need to watch out for the Aussie in the weeks and months to come.

“He will be at the top of the game very shortly, I think,” Zverev said of the 25-year-old. “I think he's going to be top 50, top 20. Then we will see how it goes. He has a massive game. He is obviously a massive talent which was hindered by injuries. I wish him nothing but the best.”

Kokkinakis had the best month of his career in January, when he won the title in his hometown at Adelaide and then captured the Australian Open doubles title with his best mate Nick Kyrgios.

The momentum has spilled over into March for the World No.97.

Kokkinakis already has 12 wins in 2022 – he had 14 wins on tour from 2017 to 2021, due to a litany of injuries.
