Murray Withdraws from Rome, Citing Fatigue


Andy Murray has pulled out of the Internazionali BNL D’Italia, saying he needed to take a break ahead of the French Open. The Scot has won back-to-back titles on clay, and is undefeated on the surface at 10-0 this season.



Murray’s withdrawal gives David Goffin a free ride into the quarterfinals, where he will face either David Ferrer or Guillermo Garcia-Lopez. Journalist Nick McCarvel captured some of Murray’s quotes from the press conference:
