Karlovic became the first 40-year-old man in more than a quarter-century to win a Grand Slam singles match today.

In a clash for the ages, Karlovic defeated 37-year-old Feliciano Lopez, 7-6 (4), 7-5, 6-7 (7), 7-5, in the oldest Roland Garros match, in age of competitors (77), in the Open era.
It is Karlovic's eighth career French Open win and first triumph in Paris in two years.
The world No. 94 belted 35 aces and saved five of six break points advancing to a second-round meeting with Aussie Jordan Thompson.
