Tomic Concurs With Kyrgios on RG

A dispirited Bernard Tomic suffered his seventh Roland Garros opening-round exit then issued a parting shot to the tournament.

Tomic, who has managed just three wins in 10 career appearances in Paris, said he agreed with compatriot Nick Kyrgios' assessment of the clay-court Slam.

Kyrgios, who withdrew from Paris, bluntly declared the "French Open sucks compared to (Wimbledon)., sucks," after hitting with Andy Murray at Wimbledon last week.

"The fact I am here now and then have to go to Paris in a couple of days... French Open sucks compared to this place. Sucks,' Kyrgios said. "Absolutely sucks. Get rid of the clay man, who likes the clay? It is so, so bad."

After a lackluster effort in which Tomic managed just six games in an 82-minute exit to 21-year-old American Taylor Fritz, the 26-year-old Aussie said he concurs with Kyrgios' feelings.

Asked his reaction to Roland Garros, Tomic replied "not for me" adding he agrees with Kyrgios' assessment.

The flat-hitting Tomic said clay is not conducive to his style of play.

"I mean, it's not difficult. It's just my game is not built for this surface. Everything I do is not good for it. But as long as I'm doing the right thing now, for the next month, is important for me. That's my focus."
