Not many things went right for Roger Federer today during his straight-sets loss at the hands of Gael Monfils, but Federer clearly improved as the match went on, as this sparkling break point save in the third set alludes to.
Not only does Federer hang with Monfils in a very physical rally, he also knocks off the sky-hook volley when the Frenchman’s backhand chip caroms off the net post and flies behind Federer’s back.
Federer didn’t get the win, but this reflex shot is most certainly one for the highlight reels.
