Terms of the settlement between Venus and the estate of Jerome Barson, who died two weeks after the accident, were not disclosed in court documents, The Palm Beach Post reports.

The accident occurred in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, where Williams lives, on June 9th, 2017. Williams was driving a 2010 Toyota Sequoia that was collided with a car driven by Linda Barson, according to the police report.

Williams, who was driving at an estimated speed of 5 mph at the time of the accident, was not cited for a traffic violation, according to the report. Williams, who was trying to drive north, stopped at an intersection to avoid a southbound Nissan Altima. As Williams proceeded through the intersection, Barson's traffic light turned green.

Barson, who was traveling west could not avoid crashing into Williams. Her husband, Jerome Barson, a passenger in the car, was injured in the accident, taken to the hospital and died two weeks later. Linda Barson was also taken to the hospital suffering broken bones, but survived the crash.

The initial police report said Williams violated Barson's right of way, however the Palm Beach Post reports police body-cam footage shows an officer at the scene telling Venus: "You just got stuck in a bad situation there."
