Rafael Nadal will open the new year armed with a new accomplice.

Babolat, Nadal's long-time racquet sponsor, unveiled video of the new Pure Aero 2019 the brand says he will use in 2019.

Prior to withdrawing from Paris last week, Nadal was practicing with what appears to be his usual racquet.

Nadal underwent ankle surgery yesterday in Barcelona and reports the procedure "went well."

If his recovery follows schedule, the 17-time Grand Slam champion is expected to start the 2019 season in January.
