Argentina's David Nalbandian hung up his racquet earlier this week after a career that featured 11 singles titles, 383 wins and just under $11 million in prize money. Like a lot of players his age - he was born in 1982 and turned pro in 2000 - Nalbandian was part of the Roger Federer era, meaning that once Federer started winning Grand Slams in 2003, there weren't many to go around for the rest of tennis.

Other than the elite players like Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray, Nalbandian had one of the best head-to-head records against Federer, going 8-11 against the all-time great in 19 matchups.

Federer also features prominently among the Top 5 wins of Nalbandian's career, which are highlighted below.

Here are the top five moments from Nalbandian's career:

2. In a match that maybe defined his career, knocked off No. 1 Federer 6-7(4), 6-7(11), 6-2, 6-1, 7-6(3) in the finals of the Tennis Masters Cup to win the title and $1.4 million. He was No. 14 entering the tournament, No. 4 at the start of the next season.

1. In a feat that has never been duplicated, Nalbandian defeated Nadal, Djokovic and Federer in succession to win the Madrid Masters in 2007. He whipped No. 3 Nadal 6-1, 6-2 in the quarterfinals; edged No. 2 Djokovic 6-4, 7-6(4) in the semifinals and rallied past No. 1 Federer 1-6, 6-3, 6-3 in the finals, all while ranked No. 25 in the world.
