Kyrgios Is Insane



When all the commentator can say is “This is insane!” tennis fans can pretty much assume they’ve seen something special. And indeed they did on Saturday in Tokyo and Nick Kyrgios put on a mind-blowing shotmaking clinic to take down Gael Monfils and reach the final of the Rakuten Japan Open.

Honestly, this was one of about 25 jaw-dropping points that Kyrgios played during his 6-4, 6-4 victory over the Frenchman. After the match the commentator summed it up aptly by saying something to the effect of “it takes something special to make Gael Monfils look regular on a tennis court, and Nick Kyrgios did that tonight.”
