Li Na believes Naomi Osaka will master multiple majors.

Li, who made history as the first Asian Grand Slam singles champion, says the 20-year-old Osaka will win multiple Grand Slam titles if her desire is strong.

"I believe with her abilities and strength, she can win many—that is if she really has the desire to be a champion," Li told AFP.

Osaka defeated 23-time Grand Slam champion Serena Williams, 6-2, 6-4, to win her maiden major at last month's US Open.

The fourth-ranked Osaka, who celebrates her 21st birthday on October 16th, withdrew from this week's Hong Kong Open to protect a back strain.

Osaka took treatment for a lower back strain during her 6-4, 6-4, Beijing semifinal loss to Anastasija Sevastova.
