Paire Shares WTA Love

Paris is known as one of the world's most romantic cities.

The French media is playing matchmaker—and newly-single Benoit Paire is open to a suggested pairing.

In the aftermath of the entertaining Frenchman's 6-4, 6-4, loss to Marton Fucsovics at the Rolex Paris Masters, Paire was asked about Daria Kasatkina and her stated preference for men with "a sense of humor."

"Well, I need a sense of humor. I'll send her an SMS," Paire said with a smile.

Both Kasatkina and Paire are creative, touch artists and outside-the-box thinkers.

Paire, who said his offseason plans include making "use of the fact I'm single", revealed he loves the Moscow champion's style.

"I love this player," Paire told the media in Paris. "She had a wonderful season. I love her game. She's outstanding. She stands out. I will certainly contact her (winking)."

The Frenchman is hoping captain Yannick Noah selects him for next month's Davis Cup final. And if he doesn't get the call—from Noah or Kasatkina—no worries, Paire is planning some party time and recovery from a back injury before beginning offseason training.

"I would like to be part of the team," Paire said. "I would like to be part of the training practice. I want to rest a little bit. Maybe go on holiday for a few days because I need to rest a little bit. This season was very tiring. Every time that I arrive in Bercy, I'm exhausted. But also I have an injury on the back. And this is why I didn't have the results that I wanted. So I need to have some time off. A few days off.

"I'll party a bit, as well. I'll make use of the fact that I'm single. I'll go on the beach. I want to be okay."
