Two spots remain on offer in the ATP’s Race to London standings as the indoor season kicks in across Europe this week.

Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, Daniil Medvedev, Roger Federer, Dominic Thiem and Stefanos Tsitsipas have all qualified, and Alexander Zverev and Matteo Berrettini currently hold the seventh and eighth spots, respectively. But there will be many opportunities for players to rise up the rankings between now and the conclusion of the Paris Masters on November 3rd.

Roberto Bautista Augut, David Goffin and Fabio Fognini are the next three in line, and with 500-level events next week in Vienna and Basel, plus the 1000-pointer in Paris there is plenty of room for a big move.

While we are on the subject of ranking, let’s take a look at some of the biggest stories of 2019 in terms of ranking rise. Below are the players who have experienced the biggest move up the ranking (players inside Top 100 only) in the last 52 weeks.

A resurgent Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (+236) tops the list but there are notable movements by so many players, including Alexander Bublik (+121) and Felix Auger-Aliassime (+92). Let’s not forget Laslo Djere, whose story was so moving in the first half of the season. The Serb has risen 55 spots.

Youngsters Alexei Popyrin (+58) and Hubert Hurkacz (+54) have also been revelations. But who are we kidding?—they’ve all been revelations, amazing work by all on this list, and thanks to ATP Media for providing the stats.

In other news there were eight career-high rankings made inside the Top 100. Those were made by Berrettini, Auger-Aliassime, Hubert Hurkacz, Reilly Opelka, Bublik, Mikael Ymer and Salvatore Caruso.
