Second Serve

France’s Corentin Moutet put up a great fight in his first match against World No.1 Novak Djokovic on Wednesday in Paris.

In fact, he kind of stole the show.

Check out this gorgeous tweener lob from Moutet at 1-1 in the second set.

Djokovic would end up battling from a break down in the opening set to secure a 7-6(2) 6-4 victory but Moutet continues to impress in a season that has seen him make his Top 100 debut and reach the third round at a major for the first time.

The 20-year-old World No.97 also won his first Masters 1000 match this week in Paris when he took out Serbia’s Dusan Lajovic in the first round.

He was not able to handle Serbia’s top dog on Wednesday, but he figures to be another in a long line of show stopping talents to come out of France.

Four-time Djokovic improves to 33-8 lifetime at Paris and he will face Kyle Edmund in round three. The Serb improves to 49-9 on the season.
