Wozniacki Expected a "Face-to-Face" During McIIroy Breakup

Sometimes in relationships, even common courtesy can't be guaranteed.

That's what Caroline Wozniacki expected as she opened up in a new interview about her split with ex-fiancé pro golfer Rory McIIroy.

US Open: Serena Wins No. 18 | Cilic Wins First Grand Slam Title

The recent US Open finalist spoke about the now defunct pairing on "In Depth with Graham Besinger". When asked about the now infamous split where McIIroy ended their impending wedding in a ten-minute phone call, Wozniacki admitted she thought she would at least get an explanation in person.

"I thought at least I would get a face to face or something but there was nothing, it was just a phone call and I did not hear from him again," Wozniacki said in the interview.

Yet, Wozniacki has moved on, saying that now that she is happier and in a better place.

"But right now I'm in such a great place, I'm so happy, I'm in a better place than I've been for a very long time and I have good things going on."

Those good things not only include reaching her first Grand Slam final in five years but also making a return to the WTA top ten. Wozniacki, a former World No. 1, is also scheduled to run in the upcoming New York City marathon for charity.

"I think you just have to take life as it goes and I believe that you never have things (put) on you that you can't handle. I'm definitely on the other side now and I've moved on."

Wozniacki's next scheduled tournament is in Tokyo later this fall.
