Look far and wide, but you’ll likely not find a better championship point than the one at the top of the page. Today in New York, Frenchmen Nicolas Mahut and Pierre-Hugues Herbert became the first all-French pairing to ever win a US Open doubles title, defeating the Australian-British pairing of John Peers and Jamie Murray, 6-4, 6-4.

The victory is the first major title for both players.

Both teams were the only pairs to have reached multiple major finals in 2015. Murray and Peers, despite the loss, became the first team since Mike and Bob Bryan to reach back-to-back finals at the majors since 2010.
