The field is set for the upcoming elite eight woman year-end WTA Finals to be held in Singapore later this month.

World No. 1 Serena Williams secured her spot several weeks ago along with Simona Halep, Maria Sharapova and Petra Kvitova. The Wimbledon champion booked her place after winning the Wuhan title last week.

Several others on the bubble were having to wait for the good news based on results at this week's China Open in Beijing. After matches ended on Thursday, four more names were added to the Singapore list.

Agnieszka Radwanska, Eugenie Bouchard, Ana Ivanovic and Caroline Wozniacki all learned they will compete at the coveted tournament in October.

Svetlana Kuznetsova, by earning a three set win over Angelique Kerber in Beijing ended the German's chances at qualification for Singapore.

For several players, including Bouchard, this will be their first ever appearance at the year-end event.

"I'm excited to compete in my first WTA Finals," Bouchard said to WTA.com. "The fans in Singapore were so enthusiastic when I visited in January for the launch of the Road To Singapore. I have worked hard all year on and off the court to qualify for the WTA Finals in Singapore."

For Ivanovic, who is enjoying one of her best seasons ever in 2014, the Singapore berth is a special reward. "It's been my big goal since the beginning of the year," she said. "Everyone really earns a spot there, and I feel like I've been playing so well the whole year. I was working hard towards this."

The year-end championships will take place from October 20 to 26.
