Nick Kyrgios had a close call in his first match the Millennium Estoril Open on Tuesday against Albert Ramos-Vinolas, but his business was less complicated on Wednesday as he moved past Serbia’s Filip Krajinovic, 6-3, 6-3, to set up a quarterfinal with Robin Haase.

The rising Aussie, who turned 20 this week, saved five of six break points to win consecutive matches for the first time since the Australian Open.
Haase pulled the stunner of the day in Portugal, saving two match points to defeat top-seeded Feliciano Lopez, 4-6, 7-6(2), 6-4.
In the first match of the day, Nicolas Almagro improved his career record against Leonardo Mayer to 3-0 with a 7-6(4), 6-2 victory, while Richard Gasquet defeated his compatriot Kenny de Schepper, 6-2, 6-3.
Gasquet, playing in his first tournament since taking time off due to a herniated disc in his back, says he’s feeling much better. “I have more confidence in my body,” he said. “That’s why I seem to be playing a little bit better.”
Almagro and Gasquet will square off in the quarterfinals.
