The victory vaults Suarez Navarro to a career-high ranking. She's projected to rise to No. 13 by reaching the final and could climb as high as No. 12 if she wins the title on Sunday.

The fifth-seeded Spaniard will play Andrea Petkovic in Sunday's final. No. 3 seed Petkovic edged Barbora Zahlavova Strycova, 7-6 (2), 7-6 (6) in the day's second semifinal.

Petkovic, who is playing for her sixth career title, will return to the Top 10 for the first time in three years on Monday.

Pliskova pounded 15 aces beating Suarez Navarro, 4-6, 6-4, 6-0 in last month's Sydney quarterfinals. The eighth-seeded Czech served just 37 percent with only one ace and five double faults in the rematch.

The 17th-ranked Spaniard is playing for her first career indoor title and second career championship.
