Grass-court season continues to bring out the aggression in CoCo Vandeweghe.

The third-seeded American will face either sixth-seeded Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova or home hope Kiki Bertens for  a semifinal spot.

Fifth-seeded Italian Camila Giorgi withstood 21 aces from wild card Michaella Krajicek—the most aces in a WTA match this year—to register a 6-7 (2), 6-2, 6-4 triumph and reach her first quarterfinal since Katowice in April.

"I waited for my chances, and when it was my time, just get it back," Giorgi said of Krajicek's heavy serve. "It was a good match."

The 35th-ranked Giorgi struggled to a 1-5 record during the spring clay-court season, but her fast strokes and baseline aggression play well on grass. In 2012, she defeated two seedsFlavia Pennetta and Nadia Petrova—to reach the Wimbledon fourth round as a qualifier.

"I feel good on grass," Giorgi said. "The points are faster and it matches with my game,"

Giorgi will play Yaroslava Shvedova for a place in the final four. Shvedova beat Marina Erakovic, 6-4, 6-4, after defeating top-seeded Genie Bouchard on Tuesday.

No.7 seed Kristina Mladenovic, who trailed by a break in both the second and third sets, rallied past Kurumi Nara, 6-7 (4), 6-3, 6-3.
