World No. 14 Milos Raonic has found a replacement for the departed Ivan Ljubicic. The Canadian has announced that he’s hired former world No. 1 and French Open champion Carlos Moya for the Australian Open. According to Matt Cronin of Tennis.com, Raonic will continue working with his assistant coach, Ricardo Piatti as well.
Raonic, who finished up an exhibition weekend at the Mubadala World Tennis Championships in Abu Dhabi with a win over Stan Wawrinka in the semis and a loss to Rafael Nadal in the final, is scheduled to play Brisbane next week. He’s seeded fourth in a stacked field that includes Roger Federer, Kei Nishikori, Marin Cilic and Grigor Dimitrov.
Federer, the top seed in Brisbane, announced that he was parting ways with Stefan Edberg and would begin working with Ljubicic in December.
Moya will begin working with Raonic ahead of the Australian Open in Melbourne.
