There was good news and bad news from the camp of Juan Martin del Potro this week. But don’t worry fans of the Tower of Tandil, the news is mostly good.

Del Potro took to Twitter to tell fans that he’d be skipping Roland Garros this season. That news was tempered by the fact that the Argentine is upbeat about his health and is planning to play in several consecutive events for the first time since beginning his comeback from multiple surgeries on his left wrist this February.

“Thanks to the improvements shown in recent weeks, for the first time in my rehab process I can confirm I will play several tournaments in a row!” Del Potro wrote on Twitter.

Del Potro has gone 8-5 this season, with a semifinal in Delray Beach and a quarterfinal at Munich.

Del Potro also added that the list of tournaments is yet to be determined, but he hopes to play as much as is possible. He also threw his hat into the Davis Cup ring, saying he’d love to play Argentina’s tie in Italy, which is scheduled for the week after Wimbledon.
